Best Davis Nollywood Actor

Best Davis is one of the busiest nollywod fastest growing superstars in the United States of America. Ika weekly has tried on several ocassions to get a hold of him for an interview. Finally we were able to meet with the acclaimed sexiest and fastest growing Ika nollywood superstar in the United States in his Maryland home and conducted this interview.
Ika Weekly:- Good morning Mr. Davis and thank you so much for granting us this interview.
Best Davis:- Good morning my brother. First of all, let me say that I don’t like to be called Mr. Just call me Best or                                                  if you want to be official, you can call me Best Davis. I really don’t like having titles attached to my name.
Ika Weekly:- We understand that you are the sexiest and fastest growing nollywood superstar from Ika land here in      the United States.
Best Davis:- Em……I don’t know what that is all about, I em.. I have seen publications about it and… I hear people talk about it but, well em…, I owe it all to God almighty.
Ika Weekly:- How long have you been acting?
Best Davis:- I started acting from a very tender age but those were all an act of push. I really realized what acting was in 1997 when I did my first movie titled “Deadly Fate”. It was an independently produced movie.
Ika Weekly:- How did you get a role in that movie?
Best Davis:- It is funny. I was in Nigeria at the time and I went to visit a friend, on getting to his house, I met people setting up for a movie shoot, they were using his house as one of the locations, I was curious, I asked for the producer and went to talk to him, I did not even ask him anything, I just said “ I would like to act” he looked at me and asked me to see him later that day. Just to cut it short, I met with him and he auditioned me for the role of a doctor and I got it.
Ika Weekly:- How was the experience?
Best Davis:- Oh my God, it was so different from what I was used to, that was the first time I did a professional acting and I enjoyed it.
Ika Weekly:- Did you do any other movies after that?
Best Davis. Em…… No. For some personal reasons, I quit acting after that first one and did not think I would go back to it again. After three years, I heard of an audition for a TV soap, ha ha ha ha. It is interesting how things work. I went for the audition, we were 15 guys that came for the audition for a role and as God would have it, I got the role and guess what, it was a doctor’s role as well.
Ika Weekly:- How did you get back into the movie industry?
Best Davis:- A producer friend wanted me to accompany him to an audition for a movie here in the United States, when we got there, I auditioned for a role, a minor role though, I did not get the role but got a different role which was a supporting lead. That was the very first movie I did here in the US and it is titled “Far From Home”. This movie was the second nollywood movies ever produced in the US, I remember the first one being “Through The Fire”.
Ika Weekly:- Do you make friends while shooting movies?
Best Davis:- Yes I do make friends while shooting especially those I have never worked with before.
Ika Weekly:- Is it true that your closest friend in the movie industry is Desmond Elliot?
Best Davis:- Interesting, em…………. I don’t know how people get their information, Desmond is a very good and close friend, he is one of the guys I have worked with and he is so different.
Ika Weekly:- We learnt you directed a movie that was just recently shot featuring Ini Edo and Pascal Atuma.
Best Davis:- That is true, as a matter of fact, we still have a couple of scenes to do and hope to finish them as soon as one of the cast returns from her trip to Atlanta.
Ika Weekly:- We thought you are just an actor, do you direct too?
Best Davis:- That was the first movie I directed though I assisted in directing “double Shift”  my main thing is acting and I love doing it.
Ika Weekly:- Do you plan on moving to Hollywood?
Best Davis:- Hum…Hollywood. Hollywood is every actor’s dream. It is good to take it one step at a time though. I would like to stick with Nollywood, make a difference, help take it to the level it should be before heading towards nollywood.
Ika Weekly:- If you get a call from a hollywood casting director, won’t you go?
Best Davis:- I would say, it depends. Most likely I would honor it for some reasons.
Ika Weekly:- Do you ever think of producing a movie some time?
Best Davis:- Em….. em. I think that there should be areas of specialization, every body should not be producers just as every body should not be actors but if there is some thing that I need to prove and can only be done by producing a movie, then yes I will. My ultimate goal is to help build nollywood.
Ika Weekly:- Is it true that producers and directors would want to sleep with girls before casting them for roles in movies?
Best Davis:- Em….. you know….. that is personal, I mean individual differences. I am not going to answer for the producers and the directors because I go on set, do my acting and leave, whatever happens before and after production is non of my business.
Ika Weekly:- Do you think it is happening?
Best Davis:- I can’t tell you yes or no. I mean, I hear people say it but I have not seen it happen so I don’t know.
Ika Weekly:- Besides acting, what else do you do?
Best Davis:- I usually don’t say what I do, the only people that know what I do are those that know me, so if you know me, you will know what else I do.
Ika Weekly:- Are you married?
Best Davis:- Oh yes. I am married to the most wonderful lady in the world, Stephanie Davis
Ika Weekly:- How are you able to act knowing that you are married?
Best Davis:- First of all, I do not cross boundries, I know my limits and secondly, my wife is so very supportive, I have never seen a lady like her, she is 100% behind my acting career.
Ika Weekly:- How does she feel when you travel for productions?
Best Davis:- Like I said, she is totally supportive, I have travelled to Nigeria two times for productions and she was fine with them. She even wants me to do more movies ha ha ha ha ha ha ha……..
Ika Weekly:- Once again thank you for granting us this audience and please we will call upon you again some other time.
Best Davis:- You are so welcome, any time.
